Kentucky Rx Cards Offer Significant Prescription Savings to Uninsured
(Madisonville, KY) – The City of Madisonville announced that it is offering residents the Kentucky Rx Card,a free discount drug card. Kentucky Rx Card is a free statewide prescription assistance program open to anyone regardless of age or income. Participants could receive savings of up to 75 percent at over 56,000 pharmacies across the country, with average savings of around 30 percent. The card is especially helpful for those who are uninsured or underinsured. However, those with health insurance can also use the program on non-covered drugs. All prescriptions processed through the program are completely confidential as no name is required on the card. There are no forms to fill out and no restrictions on membership.
This program also includes discounts on eyeglasses, hearing aids, diabetic supplies, dental, and more. Kentucky Rx Cards are available at City Hall and in the Municipal Utility Office. Cards may also be processed and printed by clicking here. The card is pre-activated and can be used immediately.
"Of all the prescription discount programs that we have seen the Kentucky Rx Card seems to provide the simplest enrollment process", says Mayor David Jackson. "The biggest benefit is the savings to our residents at a time when many are worried about the economy and their healthcare needs."
"When I learned that the City of Madisonville could offer citizens who do not have prescription coverage a way to significantly reduce the cost of their medications, I immediately suggested that the City participate, said Madisonville City Council Member Mark Lee. "I'm pleased that we are promoting the availability of this program, and that there is absolutely no cost to the City or the individual who participates."
